It is said approximately 32 million rupees were spent for this monument. Historians also claim that Shah Jahan cut hand of his labours after the completion of this monument, so such monument can never be recreated. After the death of Shah Jahan, he lies entombed in this mausoleum along with his wife. And today, people from across the world visit the place to witness the monument of love.
